Calling for 2019 Nominations for Board of Directors

Hello!

West Volusia Saddle Club is currently seeking nominations for new board members for the 2019 membership year. Volunteering as a board member is a great way to give back to the Club and to have a hand in shaping the future of our events. If leadership is something that appeals to you, or you have someone in mind who you would like to nominate, please provide their name so the nominating committee can contact them and form a list of interested candidates.

Even if you don’t have anyone to nominate, please reply to this email. We ask that for two reasons: both so that we know we have a valid email attached to your WVSC membership and so we know you have had the opportunity to nominate.

Available positions to nominate for include the following:

President: Presides over the meetings and membership. Enforces the rules and represent the club.

Vice President: Supports the president and takes over when the president is unable to perform his or her duties.
Secretary: Records membership, correspondence and meeting minutes. Keeps organization and custody of club records and legal papers.
Treasurer: Responsible for receiving and paying out funds as authorized by the club. Also responsible for financial reports and accurate deposits.

Arena Manager:
Main judge for gymkhana events. Must be able to operate the tractor, check moisture levels of arena footing, and be able for general arena maintenance during events.
Points Keeper: Keeps accurate and up to date records of earned points for all club functions. Provides monthly reporting of points to club.

Alternate Directors (3):
Three positions with special duties: one person is the historian who maintains a scrapbook and bulletin board of Club activities; one is a designated representative to fill in and assist the arena manager; one performs public relations by submitting events to local news for publication and create and maintain the newsletter.
Please submit any and all nominations ASAP, but no later than October 1 so they may be presented at the October meeting of the club.

Thanks so much for your time and we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!
